This exact scene isn't in any of the Silly Symphonies, but the 1932 pressbook shows it was one of 8 special stills promoting the series. It seems to be a prototype sketch for Bugs In Love, now considered to be the first appearance of Bucky Bug and his fellow inhabitants of Junkville. Bucky (or Buckey as it was originally spelt) didn't hit the big screen again until a cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but continued in a very popular and long-lasting newspaper comic strip. | |
