Saul Bass delivered some of his greatest designs for Otto Preminger's movies, and this is one of them. As with many of his earlier designs, a daring move not to portray any of the stars of an all-star cast. The film shows the effects of Pearl Harbor and World War II on the personal lives of US Navy personnel.
